Tricycle

It's official- Landon can ride a bike. Now that his feet can reach the pedals, there is no stopping him. He loves to do laps around our kitchen, and we think that all of the driving experience he has from his tractor and race car have helped him with his steering and maneuvering abilities. It's so fun to watch him go!

The Joy of Lincoln

Lincoln is such a happy guy. He is laughing now and "talking" to us, and he brings us such joy. He is an easy baby and sleeps and eats well, and we are thankful for our mellow second child.

Garbage Men

Every Friday morning, Landon has a date with his buddy, Colton, and the garbage men. As soon as we hear the truck coming down the road, we drop everything and run outside, regardless of whether we are eating breakfast or still in our pajamas! Colton and his mom are usually outside and we meet on the sidewalk for the "show". Our garbage men are very friendly and always honk the horn and wave at the boys, and today they even came up close for some high fives.

Singing Landon

Landon is singing so much these days, and it brings us such joy and makes me smile and laugh. Sometimes he will be singing in the back seat of the car, and in the middle of a song he will say, "Sing it, Mama!" And I have to laugh and join in. He isn't always in tune, and he doesn't know all of the words, but it is wonderful anyway. He is also getting more imaginative in his play, as you can see from this Darth Vader picture. :-) In his sandbox he has all kinds of adventures with his trucks and toys, and recently he has discovered the joy of flooding his sandbox using the hose, and basically making a mud pit to jump around in and splash his trucks through.

The Magic Thumb

It's truly amazing what a thumb can do. For the past few days, I have marveled joyously at Lincoln's ability to soothe himself to sleep by sucking his thumb. The first few times I laid him in his crib and he went to sleep without any assistance, I couldn't believe it! Landon took a pacifier, but was always very challenging to get to sleep. And, during his nap, I have watched Lincoln stir, and start to wake up, but then he will find his thumb and go back to sleep! It's wonderful! He is on a pretty good schedule now where he will wake up and eat, play for an hour or two, and then I put him in his crib and he will take a two hour nap usually. Hooray! At night he is sleeping for one good stretch of 4-6 hours, and then after that he still varies in length of sleeping from one to three hours.
