Happy Birthday song

Here are his sweet friends singing happy birthday :-)

1st Sleepover

twas the night before his 5th birthday....and all through the house...all the little boys were running and yelling and eating :-) It's almost Landon's big 5 celebration, and we thought (well, me, mostly) that we'd kick it off early with a sleepover/camp out (ask Aaron how excited he is to be out in the 90 degree temps in a tent with five boys right now! He just texted me "I'm confident we could glaze homemade ash trays out here right now" LOL).

Landon invited a few friends (I had to cap it...he would have had at least ten boys crammed in that tent!) and we had dinner, dessert, lots of fun playing, and lots of fun with the glow sticks (party in a tube, let me tell you...fifty glowsticks for about $3 on sale at Hobby Lobby....wish there had been more than just one pack that I could find for that deal...the kids LOVED them and went nuts, as you can see from the pictures...we had our own little rave going on).

gorgeous night for a camp out though, in spite of the temps....a very full and colorful moon is shining in the sky- this picture doesn't do it justice, but, you get the idea

so fun!
Happy Birthday, Landon...about this time five years ago I was just starting to feel contractions for the very first time, and thought they were braxton hicks or a false alarm :-)

More walking

She is getting good. :-) It always amazes me at how quickly babies improve...within a few weeks of those first steps, they are walking much longer distances. So fun to watch her grow.

1, 3, 5 photo shoot

I'm a bit biased, but I think our wonderful friend and photographer, Ashley, did an amazing job capturing the essence of our kiddos for their 1st, 3rd, and 5th birthday photo shoot. She let us "borrow" her old train depot station backdrop that she used for her newborn's photo shoot recently, and I just love the look of these photos. Looking forward to sending out a collage greeting soon that she is creating for us.

baby blues

thought this was such a sweet after-bath pic of Lincoln and Leia....check out those baby blues :-)

and one of Leia with a "mohawk" :-)

goofin' off with Leia's new sunglasses

More room decor

still are the latest pictures of Leia's room...complete with the princess herself. :-) I am still on the hunt for a chandelier and a night light to match the theme. the twin bedding set was a great find at Bed Bath and Beyond for only $30....not exactly what I wanted (found a set on-line of her exact theme in light pink and black, but it was over $200 with sheets and all!!! a bit much!), but it works for now.

what happens when 3 yr olds get breakfast

here is the scene I woke up to one morning last week....

Landon has become quite proficient at getting his own cereal and helping Lincoln, but apparently Landon didn't want to help on this particular occasion, so Lincoln tried it on his mixed results. :-) sometimes I feel my life is just cleaning up one mess after another (especially during the potty training days), but, lest I wallow too long in self-pity, I remind myself that someday (I've been told!) I will miss having messes to clean up and will long for the "good old days when the kids were young". :-)

Super Heroes

Lincoln and Brynlee on a good day of friendship...they are few and far between these days, but this was a precious moment captured so well by Barie...I love it!

hanging out with my girl

Leia kind of snuggled up with me on the couch this evening and was just sitting next to me, so Aaron captured this shot and I played with it on instagram. :-)

She's Walking!

It's official, Princess Leia is walking. :-)She is just over 11 months old, so the boys both beat her by about a month.

our first sunflower

The boys helped me plant some herbs and sunflowers a few months ago, and we have been watching them grow...yesterday Lincoln was the first to spot our first sunflower in bloom. He was so proud and excited to show me. Our herbs haven't done that well, due to my lack of watering and nurturing (no green thumb here).
