Amazing Dr. Seuss themed field day this year at TvE! Water balloons, water slides, bounce houses and obstacle courses...tons of fun.

Landon's Award Ceremony

Landon's final 1st grade award ceremony was today. All of the students sang a cover of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" with lyrics about their 7 leadership habits. Landon did a great job!

Haircuts for Lincoln & Leia

Happy 5, Lincoln!

Lincoln had an amazing 5th birthday! He woke up to presents and cards and got to go to work with Aaron (something he loves to do lately). I picked him up about 9 and we went to Blue Hole in Georgetown for a creek swimming party with his friends, complete with donuts and airheads (his favorite candy right now). Then his buddies came over for XBox gaming and Lego building and he ended his day with tball practice and more airheads!

12th Anniversary

Aaron & I celebrated our 12th anniversary with a "staycation" this year. My friends Nancy and Tomi kept the kids for the weekend and Aaron had the house cleaned for Mother's Day for me on Friday, so we had a clean and quiet house all weekend! It was wonderful! We ate out (brunch at Jack Allen's was my favorite), watched movies (Mud and Star Trek), read at Barnes & Noble (Dad is Fat by Jim Gaffigan- hilarious!), played games (Nertz and Scrabble), slept in and went to bed whenever we wanted! Bliss. ;-) I kept commenting on the silence...my life is so noisy and it really hit me how much I value the quiet times these days. It also made me aware of how difficult it is for Aaron to come home from a very quiet office environment to the noisy chaos that is 5-8 pm at our home each night...by that time my ears are numb to it but now I see how hard that can be on the senses to adjust. I think the weekend made us appreciate each other, the adventure of the past twelve years, our kiddos, and times of rest. We've actually been dating 16 years which is officially half of my existence! Amazing.

Landon's fake birthday

Landon's sweet teacher offered all of the students with summer birthdays a day to bring treats in to celebrate with their classmates. Landon was super excited until I told him there were no presents. Then he was still excited and started calling it his fake birthday. He asked for chocolate chip cookies and milk and his classmates, brother, teacher and office staff all enjoyed his birthday treat.
Happy fake 7, Landon!

Preschool Graduate

Lincoln graduated preschool at Christ Lutheran Learning Center. He is ready for kindergarten as a Teravista Tiger (but not yet, he tells us...after summer). It was a cute ceremony complete with pomp and circumstance music, little graduation caps and diplomas, followed by a nice family picnic on the playground.
